Role Overview

 

As a Data Manager at Morrison Spowart, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the company’s data management strategies, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and accessibility of data across all platforms. You will lead the development and implementation of data governance policies, and work closely with cross-functional teams to optimize data workflows and ensure compliance with industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the design, implementation, and management of data systems and databases.

• Develop and enforce data governance standards, policies, and procedures to ensure data quality and compliance.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders and IT teams to understand data requirements and optimize data workflows.

• Analyze and interpret complex data sets to provide actionable insights for decision-making.

• Manage the collection, storage, processing, and dissemination of data across various departments.

• Monitor data performance and ensure systems are operating efficiently.

• Lead and mentor a team of data professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance.

• Stay current with industry trends, data technologies, and regulatory changes affecting data management.

 

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Management, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (Master’s preferred).

• At least 5 years of experience in data management, with a proven track record of success in a managerial role.

• Strong expertise in database management systems (DBMS), data warehousing, and data integration.

• Proficiency in data management tools and technologies such as SQL, Python, Hadoop, and other relevant platforms.

• Excellent understanding of data governance, data security, and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.

• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.

• Leadership experience with the ability to guide and develop team members.
